Yetta Irwin, 100, of McPherson, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2010, at the McPherson Care Center. She was a retired Vaudeville performer. She was part of a family act that performed tricks and stunts on bicycles.
Yetta was born on September 23, 1909, in McPherson, Kansas, the daughter of Cloyd Eldridge and Floy Mabel (Hannah) Harrison. She attended the McPherson schools and attended two years at McPherson College. On May 30, 1936, she was united in marriage to William George Irwin in McPherson. He preceded her in death on December 6, 1984.
Yetta was a member of the First United Methodist Church and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Unit 24.
The memorial service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 24, 2010, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Marion officiating. Inurnment will be in the McPherson Cemetery.
Survivors include: guardian, Judy Davis of Lyons, KS; special friend, Nancy Janssen of McPherson, KS; granddaughter, Deborah L. White of Everett, WA; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and son, Gordon W. Irwin.
