Willis Elaine (Cross) Freeman, 95, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Loving Care of McPherson.

Willis was born on December 30, 1925, near Climax, Kansas, the daughter of Dale and Doris (Shobe) Cross. She grew up in Greenwood County, Kansas. She graduated from high school at Neal, Kansas and from Kansas State University in 1948. She taught school and was a doctor’s receptionist, bookkeeper, and secretary.

On December 26, 1948, she was united in marriage to Phil R. Freeman at Hamilton, Kansas. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1975.

She lived in California and at Fairchild Air Force at Spokane, Washington from 1950 to 1954 while Phil was in the United States Air Force. Prior to moving to McPherson, Kansas in 1967, she lived in several communities in western Kansas.

Willis was a member of the First Presbyterian Church since 1967.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; brother, Wilbur Cross and his wife, Freda; nephew, Charles Cross; and a niece, Charisse.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. A private burial will be at the Bucklin Cemetery in Bucklin, Kansas.
