William Johnson

William L. "Bill" Johnson, 72, of Canton and formerly of McPherson, died Thursday, September 29, 2005, at Angel Arms, McPherson. He was the son of Alfed Thorston and Lenora V. (Hiebert) Johnson. On October 9, 1953, he was united in marriage to Alice McAnulty at McPherson. He was retired from NCRA Refinery where he worked as an instrument leaderman and also was a farmer and dairyman.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was a member of the church board, was a Sunday School teacher, a youth sponsor, and served on the building committee. He was also a little league baseball coach and member of the P.A.C.E. Local #5-558.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, October 3, 2005, at Trinity Lutheran Church, McPherson, with Rev. Michael Fibranz officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.

Survivors include: his wife, Alice of the home; two sons, Steven Johnson and wife, Patty, of McPherson and Gary Johnson of McPherson; a daughter, Janet Ortman and husband, Dale, of Moundridge, a brother, Duane Johnson of Tulsa, OK; a sister, Diana Walstrom of Denver, CO; and five grandchildren.
