Wilbert D. "Will" Howard, 81, of McPherson, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at McPherson Care Center. He was born on May 21, 1926, at Lincoln, KS, the son of Elmer and Gracie (Spears) Howard. He worked at lumberyards in Lincoln, KS, sold insurance for American Family, worked for Farmland Industries in McPherson and for the McPherson Park Department.
On October 14, 1950, Will was united in marriage to Betty Lou Volok. Betty Lou passed away on December 12, 2007.
Will served in the Navy during World War II.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 17, 2008, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Chaplain Scott Watford officiating. Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery.
His survivors include: son, Steve Howard of McPherson; daughter, Peggy Reeves and husband, Pat, of McPherson; sister, Wanda Gordon of Salina, KS; grandson, Gary Loges and wife, Rebecca; five step grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and six step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Betty Lou (Volok) Howard, brothers, Ray, Marion, LeRoy, and Orlie, and by his sisters, Lenora and Lola.
