Walter L. Purcell, 77, of McPherson, died Saturday, June 24, 2006, at The Cedars. He was a retired farmer and truck driver and had most recently worked at Industrial Chrome Specialties as a maintenance assistant and grinder operator.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, July 1, at Crossroads Assembly of God. Inurnment of the cremains will take place in Indiana at a later date. There will be no visitation.
Survivors include: three sons, Charles Purcell of Indianapolis, IN, Steve Purcell, Larry Purcell, and Marty Purcell, all of McPherson; five daughters, Jane Rector of Fillmore, IN, Dorothy Treman of Muskegon, MI, Vicki Frazier of Cloverdale, IN, Sue Gann of Muskegon, MI, and Virginia Tolliver of Haworth, OK; three brothers, Gerald Purcell of Brazil, IN, George Purcell of Satanta, KS, and John Purcell of Louisiana; his companion, Treva Unruh of McPherson; 29 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elfreda, a son, Gary Purcell, and a granddaughter, Stacy Tolliver.
