Vivian M. Wagner, 82, of McPherson and formerly of Wakefield, KS, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2013, at the McPherson Care Center. She was a housekeeper and church custodian.
Vivian was born on July 23, 1931, in Hillsboro, Kansas, the daughter of Harvey and Lillian (Miller) Vogel. She attended Hillsboro Grade School and Hillsboro High School. She was united in marriage to Leonard D. Wagner on December 12, 1948, in Hillsboro, KS. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1995.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Wakefield, KS where she belonged to the Church Women’s Auxiliary. She also was actively involved with Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include: sons, Lonnie Wagner (Cindy) of Gardner, KS and Donald Wagner (Carol) of McPherson, KS; daughters, Debbie Marquette of Galva, KS and Patti Eagle of Galva, KS; brother, Ralph Vogel (Helen) of Inman, KS; 11 grandchildren, Tina, Jennifer, Loni Lee, LaVenia, Carl, Jr., Kayla, Donielle, Eric, Jessica, Chris, and Bradly; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two step-mothers, her husband, a son-in-law, and a great-granddaughter.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Wakefield, KS with Rev. Will Kenyon officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Wakefield. Following the burial, a luncheon will be served at the church. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, November 4, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
