Virginia R. Schulz, 85, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita. She was a homemaker and had worked at the Tip-Top Creamery in Hillsboro in her younger years.
Virginia was born on October 8, 1928, in Lehigh, KS, the daughter of Fred J. and Ellen Carrie (Kasper) Winter. On September 3, 1950, Virginia was united in marriage to Richard G. “Dick” Schulz in Canton, KS. He preceded her in death on March 28, 2006.
Survivors include: three sons, Doug Schulz and wife, Gail, of McPherson, KS, Stan Schulz and wife, Kathy, of McPherson, KS, and Rick Schulz and wife, Kathy, of McPherson, KS; two sisters, Lois Lake of Derby, KS and Betty Brewer of McPherson, KS; ten grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Debra Williams, brother, Glenn Winter, sisters, Wilma Schroeder, Joyce Gooding, and Mary Tector.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, July 11, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Tim Leaf officiating. Burial will follow at the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Thursday, July 10, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
