Vida Schrag Ellwood

Vida Joy Schrag-Ellwood, 73, of McPherson, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at her home. Vida was born on March 2, 1936, in Corn, Oklahoma, the daughter of Dan B. and Margaret (Epp) Kliewer. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse, working for Pleasant View Home, Inman, KS for 26 years, retiring in 1998.

Vida was a member of the First Christian Church, McPherson and Associate Member of Eden Mennonite Church, Moundridge.

Vida was united in marriage Gilbert Schrag in 1955. Gilbert preceded her in death in 1996. On June 6, 1998, she was united in marriage to Garth Ellwood. He survives.

Other survivors include: daughter, Sheri Kaufman-Marsh and husband, Paul, of Derby, KS; sons, Terry Schrag and wife, Karen, of rural McPherson, KS and Frank Schrag and wife, Darla, of Inman, KS; step-sons, William Ellwood and wife, Penny, of Leawood, KS and David Ellwood of Lakewood, CO; brother, J.D. Kliewer and wife, Pat, of Haysville, KS; sisters, Karen Valentine of Hutchinson, KS and Jean Shroyer and husband, Arch, of Bella Vista, AR; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 20, at the Eden Mennonite Church, Moundridge. Burial will be in the Eden Mennonite Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
