Verna Bose

Verna Irene Bose, 88, of McPherson and formerly of Gaylord and Cedar, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2010, at her home, McPherson. She was a homemaker and help on the family farm.

Verna was born on June 29, 1922, in Kensington, Kansas, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Levin) Suchsland. She graduated from Agra High School in 1940. On February 14, 1946, she was united in marriage to Melvin John Bose at Phillipsburg, KS. He preceded her in death on November 15, 1989.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Monday, August 9, 2010, at St. John's Lutheran Church (Athol, KS) with Pastor Nancy Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Cemetery, Cedar, KS. Visitation with the family present will be from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, Sunday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.

Survivors include: son, Richard Lee Bose (Julie) of Gaylord, KS; daughters, Karla Kay Thompson (Carl) of McPherson, KS and Connie Sue Wilson (Richard Plenert) from McPherson, KS; sisters, Mildred Dettmer of Kensington, KS and Margaret VanEaton of Stockton, KS; 13 grandchildren, Kyle Thompson, Chad Thompson, Ricky Bose, Melvin Bose, Misty Thompson, Melissa Rose, Richard M. Bose, Cody Bose, Matthew Bose, Christina Bose, Tina Graves, Tammie Stockham, and A.J. Wilson; 10 great-grandchildren, Tyson Palmer, Tristin Thompson, Heather Thompson, Haley Thompson, Beau Bose, Brandon Bose, Josh Bose, Samantha Bose, Stevie Stockham, and Layne Graves.
