Verlin R. Koehn

Verlin R. Koehn, 67, of Galva, KS, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 5, 2016, surrounded by his family at his home in Galva. He owned and operated Galva Cash Service.

He was born on October 26, 1949, in Moundridge, KS, the son of Clinton D. and Vera V. (Becker) Koehn. He received his education at Sunflower School. Verlin was united in marriage to LaWanda F. Schafer on April 25, 1969, at Lone Tree Church of God in Christ, Mennonite.

Verlin was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on February 17, 1963. He was a member of Suncrest Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in Galva, KS.

Survivors include: his wife, LaWanda of the home; four children, Chad (Rachel) Koehn of Galva, KS, Cristi (Jason) Unruh of Minerva, OH, Alisha (Gregory) Ratzlaff of Galva, KS, and Joel (Andrea) Koehn of Galva, KS; eight grandsons, Caden, Spencer, Colin, George, Ted, Levi, Tommy, & Toby; three granddaughters, Trista, Maria, & Ellie; special sister, Vernabelle Koehn of Galva, KS; two brothers, Gary (Juanita) Koehn of Fredonia, KS and LaRell (Pam) Koehn of Moundridge, KS; sister, Dorinda (Mark) Schultz of Fredonia, KS; brothers-in-law, Melvin (Irene) Schafer, DeWayne (Thelma) Schafer, Vernon (Sherry) Schafer, David (Jane) Schafer, and sister-in-law, DeAnn (Jim) Koehn.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at Lone Tree Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Galva with Ministers Weldon Koehn and Kevin Unruh officiating. Burial will follow at Suncrest Cemetery, Galva. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, November 7, at Suncrest Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Galva with the family receiving friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
