Terry D. Schmidt

Terry David Schmidt, 58, of McPherson, KS, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024, due to injuries sustained in a single vehicle accident near McPherson. Terry was an oil and gas operator and producer. 

Terry was born on August 13, 1965, in McPherson, KS, the son of Beauferd Wayne and DeAnn (Williams) Schmidt. Terry graduated from McPherson High School in 1983. On May 7, 1994, Terry was united in marriage to Cheryl J. Becker in McPherson. This union was blessed with two daughters, Paige and Madison. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Cheryl; daughters, Paige Burdick (Matthew) of Wichita, KS and Madison Schmidt of Wichita, KS; mother, DeAnn Decker (Larry) of Galva, KS; brothers, Tony Schmidt (Tiffany) of McPherson, KS and Heath Schmidt (Leesa) of Galva, KS; mother-in-law, Ruby Becker of Moundridge, KS; nephews and niece, Sam Schmidt, Sylas Schmidt, Kayley Cox (Kody), and Caleb Schmidt (Lindsey); numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family membd friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Beauferd Schmidt, father-in-law, Merle Becker, and grandparents, Fred & Tennie Williams and David & Dena Schmidt. 

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, July 5, 2024, at Revolution Church, 1337 W. Kansas Ave., McPherson, with Pastor Steve Gray officiating. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until service time on Friday at the church.
