Terie L. Tector

Terie Lynn Tector, 69, of Galva, KS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 21, 2019, surrounded by family at her home in Galva. She was a school teacher and special education teacher for schools in McPherson County and Commerce, OK.

Terie was born on December 28, 1949, in McPherson, KS, the daughter of Roland “Blackie” Hayes and Deloris Mae (Huber) Nutter. She received her master’s degree from Wichita State University. Terie was united in marriage to Larry Lee Tector on November 15, 1990, in Lindsborg, KS.

She attended Galva Christian Church, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and former member of the Canton-Galva School Board. Terie enjoyed playing bunco and going to casinos.

Survivors include: her loving husband, Larry of the home; son, Jeff Tector (Lori) of Galva, KS; daughter, Tammy Schmidt (Dennis) of Galva, KS; mother, Deloris Nutter of Pryor, OK; brothers, Tim Nutter (Carolyn) of Pryor, OK and Tony Nutter (Shelly) of Oklahoma City, OK; three grandchildren, Danielle Schmidt of Galva, KS, Ryan Schmidt (Kelli) of Wichita, KS, and Kalisha Tector (Quinten Sloup) of Galva, KS; four great-grandchildren, Ryker Sloup, Kennadi Schmidt, Kaden Schmidt, and Jaxxen Sloup; and many other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father.

A visitation with the family receiving friends will be from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Friday, November 29, 2019, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.
