Stefan Rygas

Stefan Rygas, 86, died Monday, December 25, 2006, at his home in McPherson. He was retired from McPherson Concrete Products, after 35 years, where he worked as a production foreman.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 30, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The family will be present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Survivors include: a son, Alex Rygas of Pulaski, VA; two daughters, Emilia "Amy" Rygas Kimmel of Clayton, NC and Yolande Rygas Deck of Irving, TX; his former wife and lifetime companion, Lucy Melzer, of McPherson, KS; three sisters, all of Poland; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
