Stan L. Kenton

Stan Leroy Kenton, 70, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Pleasant View Home in Inman, KS.

Stan was born November 28, 1954, in Wichita, KS, the son of Eugene Cecil and Mary Lois (Stansel) Kenton. He graduated from Canton High School in 1972. On January 20, 1986, Stan was united in marriage to Kelly Patrick in Las Vegas, NV, and they were blessed with loving daughters, Megan, Shawna, and Miranda.

He retired from Johns Manville where he was a Machine Chief, working there for 38 years.

Survivors include his three daughters, Miranda Walters (Greg) of McPherson, KS, Shawna Kenton of McPherson, KS, and Megan Kenton-Smith (Clinton) of Detroit Lakes, MN; six grandchildren, Bentley Konen, Riggs Walters, Rhodes Walters, Greydan Smith, KayDee Smith, and Adelyne Smith; siblings, Sheryl Railsback (Gene) of McPherson, KS, Marsha Rageth of McPherson, KS, and Winston Kenton (Sally) of Wichita, KS; former wife, Kelly Patrick and her husband, Jeff Ponting, and their son, Kolin, of McPherson, KS; several nieces & nephews; and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Clarence Kenton; and a sister, Zelma Kenton.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The memorial service will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, April 18, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. To view a live stream broadcast of the service, PLEASE CLICK HERE.

All those in attendance at the visitation and service are encouraged to dress casually or wear Stan’s favorite sports attire: St. Louis Cardinals, KU Jayhawks, or KC Chiefs.
