Shirley Esau, 66, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 22, 2022, surrounded by family at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka, KS. She was a library assistant at the McPherson Public Library, retiring just one month prior to her passing.
Shirley was born on August 18, 1956, in Goessel, KS, the daughter of James Willard and Eulalia (Regier) Flaming. She graduated from Hillsboro High School.
She is survived by four children, Jolene (Derek) Hett of Salina, KS, Clint Esau of McPherson, KS, Robin Esau of McPherson, KS, and David (Allison) Esau of Wichita, KS; five siblings, Virginia Flaming of Newton, KS, Stan Flaming of Newton, KS, Susie Flaming of Salina, KS, Vivian (Randy) Picking of Salina, KS, and Cheryl (Kevin) Brandt of Hillsboro, KS; two grandchildren, Sabian Hett and Scott Esau; and many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bill Flaming; and infant granddaughter, Afton Hett.
A Celebration of Life (come & go) will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.
