Sheryl Elaine Miller, 68, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center, Wichita. She retired from Hospira where she worked for 36 years. She then was a self-checkout hostess at Walmart.
Sheryl was born on March 13, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Marvin James and Gloria June (Bengston) Plooster. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1970 and attended Brown Mackie College in Salina. Sheryl was united in marriage to John K. Miller on June 24, 1973, at Trinity Lutheran Church, McPherson. This union was blessed with a daughter, Heather.
Survivors include: her husband of 47 years, John Miller, and daughter, Heather Miller, both of McPherson, KS; two brothers, Larry Plooster and wife, Berdeanna, of Pocatello, ID and Keith Plooster and wife, Sheila, of McPherson, KS; and several nieces & nephews and great-nieces & great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Gloria Plooster.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 AM, Friday, November 13, at the Andover Cemetery, Windom. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM, Friday, at the First Christian Church, McPherson, with Pastor Lynn Scott officiating. Social distancing and masks will be required.
