Shari Lynne Edgell, age 73, formerly of McPherson, Kansas and Rogers, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Advent Health-Shawnee Mission Hospital in Merriam, Kansas.
Shari was born in McPherson, Kansas and graduated from high school in Reed’s Spring, Missouri. She married Charles Spainhour in 1968 and had sons, Brent and Brian. She went on to nursing school in Jefferson City, Missouri and worked for 40+ years as a Registered Nurse. In 1988, Shari married C.D. Edgell and they moved to a beautiful property at Beaver Lake in Rogers, where she loved to host friends and family for boat rides, swimming off the dock, and taco dinners. Shari created countless treasured memories at the lake for all her grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart.
Shari retired from nursing in 2017 to be a full-time grandma, and continued to serve her community and church family in her free time. Shari moved back to Kansas in 2020 to be nearer to family. She loved lacing, quilting, and following her beloved Arkansas Razorbacks. She was a woman of God and member of the Baptist church.
Shari is survived by sons, Brian and Brent; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Caden, Marshall, Lindsay, Seth, and Sheridan; great-grandchildren, Jayce, Grayce, and Dylan; and brothers, Brad and Scott Peterson.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, May 26,2023, at Stockham Family Funeral Home in McPherson. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday , May 27, also at Stockham Family Funeral Home, with burial to follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Lindsborg.
Memorial donations may be given to the American Diabetes Association in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 N. Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
