Ruby L. Swick

Ruby L. Swick, 97, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at The Cedars, McPherson. She retired from Farmers Alliance Insurance where she worked in the accounting department.

Ruby was born on October 13, 1922, in Drumright, OK, the daughter of Frank and Loya (Wilson) Wingrove. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1940. Ruby was united in marriage to Dean W. Swick on January 20, 1946, in McPherson. He preceded her in death on July 3, 2003.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Life Member of V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Survivors include: two sons, Greg Swick (Martha) of Ozark, MO and Dennis Swick (Susan) of Poinciana, FL; four grandchildren, Dean Swick, Erin Sabyan (Scott), Nathan Swick (Danielle), and Laura Tacke (Bart); four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Claude Wingrove and Ronald “Bud” Wingrove, and sisters, Louise Sucher and Lillian Pontius.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, January 10, 2020, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 11, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Pastor Lacey Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
