Royal G. Eickstadt

Royal George Eickstadt, 91, of McPherson, KS, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at The Cedars Health Care Center in McPherson. He had been a production control manager for Honeywell International in Minneapolis, MN. He also worked as a finish carpenter in the years prior to his retirement.

He was born September 21, 1926, in Bemidji, MN, the son of Ewald and Pearl (Griegg) Eickstadt. He attended Wessington Springs College in Wessington Springs, SD and God’s Bible School and College in Cincinnati, OH.

On June 26, 1954, he was united in marriage to Shirley A. Spreckels in Minneapolis, MN.

Royal was an active member of the Free Methodist Church, McPherson. For seventeen consecutive years, Royal and Shirley travelled to Alamo, TX and would stay for the winter months and do volunteer and missionary work at the Bibleville Conference Center, which was affiliated with Rio Grande Bible Institute.

Survivors include: his wife, Shirley of the home; sons, Steven Eickstadt (Eloise) and Daniel Eickstadt, both of McPherson, KS; a daughter, Susan Nabors of Minneapolis, MN; a sister, Darlene York (Gene) of Yakima, WA; grandchildren, Raymond Eickstadt, Lorissa Gilmore, Kristina Eickstadt, and RaeAlane Sargent; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Griffith officiating. Private inurnment will be in the mausoleum at McPherson Cemetery following the memorial service.
