Rose Barker, 99, of Dewey, Oklahoma and formerly of McPherson, died Wednesday, May 17, 2006. She was the daughter of William and Lola (Hatcher) Casebeer. On April 30, 1924, she married Walter Scott Barker at Fayetteville, AR. He died March 7, 1978. She was a retired Nurse's Aide and had worked at Memorial Hospital in McPherson. She also owned and operated a nursing home in McPherson.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, McPherson and McPherson Garden Club.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, May 20, at McPherson Cemetery with Pastor Carri Carlson officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Stockham Family Funeral Home, with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
Survivors include: four sons, Gene Barker of Salina, OK, Vernon Barker of Samammish, WA, Bob Barker of Hutchinson, KS, and Lyle Barker of Chapman, KS; daughter, Peggy Brower of Copan, OK; brother, Charles Casebeer of McPherson, KS; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter Scott Barker, two sons, Raymond & George Barker, four brothers, Harvey, Robert, George, & John Casebeer; two sisters, Martha Kendall & Margaret Swanson; and two grandsons, Ronnie Barker & Jacob Brower.
