Ronald Latta

Ronald L. Latta, 74, of McPherson, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012, at McPherson Hospital. Prior to retirement, he was the manager of the ALCO store in Hillsboro and South Hutchinson. He also managed the J.C. Penney Stores in McPherson and Anthony, KS.

He was born January 3, 1938 in Home City, KS, the son of Albert J. and Wilma (Dotson) Latta. He graduated from high school at Seneca, KS and also graduated from Highland Junior College in Highland, KS. For ten years, Ronald served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

On January 14, 1961, Ron was united in marriage to Betty L. Bennett at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. The Latta's have been residents of McPherson since 1975, moving from Anthony, KS

Survivors include: his wife, Betty of the home; three daughters, Tina Latta of Parsons, KS, Connie Sinnett of McPherson, and Theresia Wills (Troy) of McPherson; and three grandsons, Bryan Baerg, Phillip Wills, and Brandon Wills, all of McPherson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lou Ann Forst.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at Stockham Family Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
