Rometa J. Snider

Rometa J. Snider, 92, of McPherson, KS, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Hospice House in Hutchinson.  

She was born April 6, 1932, in Greenville, Mississippi, the only child of Robert W. and Demetra J. (Kirby) Hill. She spent many years living in Texas and working in retail and interior decorating. 

On December 12, 1950, Rometa was united in marriage to Clayton Lee Snider. This marriage was blessed with five children. They were married fifty years and three weeks when he passed of cancer on January 2, 2001. She moved to Kansas in March 2017 where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law until her passing. 

Survivors include: a son, Michael Snider (Sandy) of North Carolina; two daughters, Linda “Kate” Piquard (Edward Birtch) of McPherson, KS and Christi Simonek of Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by a son, George Snider, and a daughter, Sharon Collins. 

Service arrangements are pending. The final resting place will be in Nocona, Texas.
