Roger Vogts

Roger E. Vogts, 65, of Moundridge, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2008, at Mercy Hospital, Moundridge, Kansas. Roger was born on February 4, 1943, at Goessel, Kansas, the son of Herman G. Vogts and Frieda E. (Flickner) Zissman. He graduated from Moundridge High School in 1961. He was a plant supervisor for Moridge Manufacturing, Inc. in Moundridge, having been employed there for 40 years.

Roger was a member of the First Mennonite Church of Christian, Moundridge, Kansas.

His survivors include: sons, Brandon Vogts of Moundridge, KS and Brian Vogts of Moundridge, KS; step-sons, Dwight Helms of Houston, TX and Duane Helms of Hesston, KS; brothers, Brad Vogts of McPherson, KS, Sherwin Niehage of McPherson, KS, and Ed Vogts of Moundridge, KS; sisters, Valeta Smith of Hoquiam, WA, Rosalyn Cornell of Pittsburg, KS, and Dema Woten of Blythe, CA; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Marion & LeRoy Vogts.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at First Mennonite Church of Christian, Moundridge, KS, with Pastor Phil Waite officiating. Burial will be in the West Zion Cemetery, Moundridge. Visitation will be on Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Stockham Family Funeral Home.
