Roger Fortune

Roger W. Fortune, 85, of McPherson, died Friday, August 22, 2003, at The Cedars Health Care Center. He was a retired soil technician for the U.S.D.A. Soil Conservation Service.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 26, at Countryside Covenant Church. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 3:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday at Stockham Family Funeral Home, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Survivors include: his wife, Betty of the home; two sons, David Fortune of Kankakee, IL and Doug Fortune of McPherson; a daughter, Patricia Fortune-Oppenheimer of Charlottesville, VA; two sisters, Harriet Rudisill of Pittsburg, KS and Elizabeth Southard of Lebanon, MO; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
