Rodney Lee Shober

Rodney Lee Shober, 59, of Inman, KS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was formerly a production planner for American Maplan, McPherson. Rod served in the United States Navy for six years.

Rod was born on April 29, 1955, in Ephrata, PA, the son of Clifford Lee and Jean Marion (Dunkelberger) Shober. He attended Hutchinson Community College. He was united in marriage to Jan Marie Mantz on December 7, 1982, in Roxbury, KS.

Rod was a member of Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church.

Survivors include: wife, Jan of the home; sons, Jason Shober (Val) of Inman, KS, Josh Shober (Leslie) of McPherson, KS, and Joe Shober of Inman, KS; mother, Jean Shober of McPherson, KS; brother, Rick Shober (Brenda) of McPherson, KS; sisters, Lynnie Bupp (Terry) of Roxbury, KS, Val Morris (Steve) of Manheim, PA, Pam Kerns (Mel) of McPherson, KS, Marg Reider (Bob) of Denver, PA, and Teena Haake (Keenan) of McPherson, KS; and five grandchildren, Kennedy, Nathan, Kayla, Sammy, and Sloan.

He was preceded in death by his father.

The memorial service will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church, Inman, with Rev. Dwight Carter officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 9, 2014, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the church.
