Rod Schiffelbein

Rod J. Schiffelbein, 53, of McPherson, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2010, at his home, McPherson. He was a machinist/service technician, working on plastics extrusion equipment. He had worked at American Maplan and Theyson.

Rod was born on June 18, 1957, in Garden City, KS, the son of Casper "Cap" J. and Madelon "Maddie" Rose (Winters) Schiffelbein. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1975. Rod had lived in McPherson, KS since 1982, formerly of Wichita, KS.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father David Lies, Celebrant. Inurnment will be in the McPherson Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM.

Survivors include: companion, Marilyn Miller of McPherson; four brothers, Pat (Barbee) of Stem, NC, Mike (Linda) of McCook, NE, Tim (Layne) of Garden City, KS, Stan (Kate) of Colorado Springs, CO; five sisters, Deb Hays (Kelly) of Garden City, KS, Chris Hands (Wayne) of Garden City, KS, Beth Nelson (Tim) of Garden City, KS, Margaret Miller (Tom) of Ingalls, KS, and Sally Bogner (Jake) of Woodward, OK; step-mother, Norma Schiffelbein of Garden City, KS; step-sisters, Cherie Baar (Steve) of Turon, KS, DeeAnn Pothier (Bruno) of Manitou Springs, CO; and 30 nieces & nephews.
