Rita E. Rodgers

Rita Ellen Rodgers, 89, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at McPherson Health and Rehabilitation. Rita was a secretary for Farmers Alliance Mutual Insurance Co. and was a greeter for Walmart.

Rita was born on January 30, 1927, in Borger, Texas, the daughter of Ted and Evelyn (Holeman) Poe. She attended first grade through tenth grade in Burrton, KS and graduated from McPherson High School in 1944. On January 9, 1945, she was united in marriage to Murray Lamar Rodgers in McPherson, KS. He preceded her in death on September 21, 2015.

She was a member of Grace Bible Church.

Survivors include: five grandchildren, Pamela Grover (Jeff) of Sandy, UT, James Buller of Concordia, KS, Murrita Terronez of Wichita, KS, Janelle Brown (Dustin) of Garden Plain, KS, and Mellissa Stone (Eric) of Las Vegas, NV; 14 great-grandchildren; and several cousins including Gay Dugan of Moundridge, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Michael Rodgers and Teddy Rodgers; daughter-in-law, Charlene Beacham; grandson-in-law, John Terronez, II; great-grandson, Justin Hull; and half-brother, Bud Vanley.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Monday, June 13, 2016, at Grace Bible Church. Burial will follow at Windom Cemetery, Windom, KS. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, June 12, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.
