Richard Dube,

Richard J. Dube, Jr., 59, of McPherson, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2007, at Via Christi RMC, St. Joseph Campus in Wichita.

He was born April 17, 1948, Worcester, Mass., the son of Richard J. Sr. and Kathleen Price Dube. He was a retired U.S. Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer, serving in the Vietnam War and in Operation Desert Storm. He also served in the Merchant Marines.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

On March 5, 2004 he married Donna L. Helffrich at Brewton, Alabama. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Jesse Jackson and wife Jill, McPherson; a goddaughter, Harley Savannah Rosemary Wilson, Charleston, Mo.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Savannah Braswell.

The cremains will be inurned at U.S. Naval Air Station Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla.
