Richard Claypool

Richard M. "Dick" Claypool, 64, of Marquette, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at his home, after fighting a courageous three year battle with cancer.

Dick was born on September 15, 1947, the son of Jack M. and Lenora L. (Cedarholm) Claypool. He graduated from Marquette High School in 1965. On July 27, 1968, he was united in marriage to Ardis A. Hawkinson in Marquette, KS.

Dick worked for Kit Manufacturing and Sierra Homes in McPherson for several years prior to seventeen years of service at Mid-America Pipeline Company in Conway. In 1992, Dick retired from MAPCO to devote all of his time to his family and farming & cattle operation.

Survivors include: his wife, Ardis A. Claypool of Marquette, KS; son, Michael Claypool of Kansas City, MO; and mother, Lenora Claypool of Marquette, KS. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Claypool, brother, Dennis R. Claypool, and daughter, Terri A. Claypool.

A graveside memorial service is planned for Monday, November 21, 2011, at 2:00 PM at the Marquette Cemetery with Pastor Tim Bever officiating.
