Richard "Bogey" Blubaugh

Richard A. "Bogey" Blubaugh, 66, of McPherson, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013, along with his wife, Rael, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Reeds Spring, MO. Rich was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He worked at Hospira for over 35 years, primarily in the Human Resources Department.

Rich was born on November 12, 1946, in McPherson, KS, the son of Ralph P. "Rudy" and Loyette A. (Engelhardt) Blubaugh. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1964 and from Emporia State University. On August 20, 1972, Rich was united in marriage to Rael Schlesener in Emporia, KS.

He was a member of Countryside Covenant Church, McPherson and American Legion Post #24.

Survivors include: daughter, Lanell Griffith and husband, Brandon, of Topeka, KS; son, Todd Blubaugh of Seattle, WA; brother, Gary Blubaugh and wife, Joyce, of Lakewood, CO; sister, Bette Hook and husband, Bill, of Chandler, AZ; and two grandchildren, Jett & Jaxon of Topeka, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Countryside Covenant Church with Rev. Tim Holgerson officiating. Burial with military honors will be at the McPherson Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 19, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Countryside Covenant Church with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
