Ralph Richard Heidebrecht

Ralph Richard “Rich” Heidebrecht, 80, went to be with his Savior on Sunday, May 6, 2018, surrounded by family in Hoisington, KS. He was formerly of McPherson, KS, moving to Robson Ranch in Denton, TX in October of 2012.

Rich served in the Army National Guard from 1953 to 1959. He was a materials coordinator and purchasing agent for Johns Manville for 27 years.

He was born on October 3, 1937, in McPherson, KS, the son of Ralph F. and Orpha I. (Beam) Heidebrecht. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1955 and McPherson College in 1960. In 1958, Rich married Karen Peterson. Rich later married Sharon L. (Rein) Schwartz on August 13, 1992, in McPherson.

Rich was a member of First Baptist Church, McPherson where he served the church in many capacities including the trustee board and being head usher. He was also a member of B.P.O.E. #502 and Turkey Creek Golf Club. He enjoyed activities at the McPherson Senior Center and coached youth baseball teams.

Survivors include: his wife, Sharon of the home; four children, Lori Lockert of Huntsville, TX, Ron Heidebrecht (Marci) of Hillsboro, KS, Brian Heidebrecht (Tiffani) of Southlake, TX, and Rene Holder (Brian) of The Woodlands, TX; step-children, Stephanie Van Scyoc (Lee) of Hoisington, KS and Michelle Reifschneider (Paul) of Hays, KS; brothers, John Heidebrecht of Wichita, KS and Larry Heidebrecht (Kathy) of Omaha, NE; 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Carmon.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 3:30 PM, Friday, June 1, 2018, at McPherson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, June 1, at the First Baptist Church, McPherson. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 2, at First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the First Baptist Church in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
