Ralph E. Hagerman

Ralph Eugene Hagerman, 52, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at his home in McPherson. He was born on January 17, 1962, in Hutchinson, KS, the son of Dolph William and Elizabeth (Weeks) Hagerman.

Ralph lived in Hutchinson, Topeka, and Newton prior to moving to McPherson in 2006. Ralph was a man of few words but was able to convey his thoughts, feelings, wants, and desires to everyone who knew and loved him. He was a bright spot on a dark day. He could make you laugh and knew just how to comfort you. He was a gentle and loving man who brought joy to everyone he met. He could make any situation funny by mocking and mimicking those around him. He loved to tease others by imitating them or by hiding their belongings and then watching and waiting to get a reaction. He could improve your mood and brighten your day with ease. He was a bright light in this world and those who loved him will miss his smile, his joy, his playfulness, his charm, and mostly, his love of life.

Ralph is survived by: six cousins, Loretta Shultz, Grace Shultz, Melvin Shultz, Shirley Horne, Sarah Nelson, Leonard E. Nelson, II; 16 second cousins; his New Beginnings of McPherson, Inc. family; and those who have loved and cared for him throughout his life.

He is preceded in death by cousin, Ruth Ann Stevens, uncle, Roscoe Shultz, and aunts, Charlotte Hagerman Shultz and Ruth Jean Miller.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery in Hutchinson, Kansas. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, December 16, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with family receiving friends 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
