Phyllis J. Peterson

Phyllis Joan Peterson, 78, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 21, 2019, surrounded by family at McPherson Hospital. Prior to retirement, she had worked at Sterling Drug.

Phyllis was born on January 1, 1941, in McPherson, KS, the daughter of Ernest Raymond and Phoebe Johanna Beatrice (Aelmore) Williams. She graduated from Galva High School in 1959 and was the Galva May Queen in her senior year. On February 14, 1961, Phyllis was united in marriage to Leland Arthur Peterson in Galva, KS. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2014.

She was a member of the Galva Christian Church.

Survivors include: her son, Gary Peterson (Debbie) of Marquette, KS; two daughters, Debbie Stamm (Don) of Cheyenne, WY and Tammy Cape (LeRoy) of McPherson, KS; six grandchildren, Jessica Hakoda (Ken), Brad Peterson (Corrie), Cody Cape, Devin Cape, Jami Kukal (Jared), and Nicole Pearce (Josh); and eight great-grandchildren, Levi Harrison, Olivia Peterson, Hunter Peterson, Cason Haley, Ashlynn Haley, Jaren Haley, Riggin Pearce, and Ryatt Pearce.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Lowell Williams, and son, Doug Peterson.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with a graveside service following at 3:00 PM, at the Freemount Lutheran Church Cemetery.
