Paulina Eberhart Bean

Paulina C. Eberhart Bean, 98, of McPherson and formerly of Beloit, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at the McPherson Care Center. Paulina was born on January 7, 1911, in Mitchell County, KS (near Beloit), the daughter of Walter Monroe and Mabel Clare (Cowman) Wray. She graduated from Beloit High School. On June 4, 1933, she was united in marriage to Harold Adolph Eberhart. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1949. On July 26, 1954, she was united in marriage to Urias Lafe Bean. He preceded her in death in September of 1994. She was a homemaker.

The funeral service will be at 3:00 PM, Friday, November 20, at New Hope Evangelical Church, McPherson with Rev. Jim Keil officiating. A graveside service will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 21, at the Jewell Cemetery, Jewell, Kansas.

Survivors include: daughters, Gelene Neff of McPherson, KS and Joyce Gumm-Kimbrough and husband, Jerry, of Springfield, MO; sister, Winona Rice of Wichita, KS; step-daughters, Patricia Wait and husband, Lynn, of Wakefield, KS and Sharon Bean of Beloit, KS; ten grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold A. Eberhart and Urias L. Bean, daughter, Marjorie McElroy, sisters, Sylvia Unruh and Rosalie Hoover; and a brother, Winson Wray.
