Norma Jean Holm

Norma Jean Holm, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Riverview Estates, Marquette.

Norma was born on July 23, 1931, to Art and Alyce Patrick in Marquette, KS. She graduated from Marquette High School in 1949. Norma Jean was united in marriage to Arlie Benton Holm on May 25, 1949, at the parsonage in Marquette, KS. This union was blessed with six children, RLou Elaine, Beverly Jean, Robert Benton, Bradley Vaughn, Ronald Leray, and Bryan Carl. Norma and Arlie played guitar and sang together on KNEX radio in 1948. They continued singing gospel music together for many years.

Norma Jean was a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed sewing and cooking. She delighted in taking her children and mother fishing, shopping with her daughters, talking on the phone, and helping raise her grandchildren. The Lord and her family were the most important parts in her life, praying daily for her loved ones. 

She had a special friend, Eyler Anderson, who visited with her almost every day at the nursing home. Norma greatly enjoyed his company. 

Survivors include six children, RLou Wilson of Galva, KS, Beverly Johnson (Tom) of Galva, KS, Robert Holm (Cathy) of Galva, KS, Bradley Holm (Amy) of Gypsum, KS, Ronald Holm (Carol) of Galva, KS, and Bryan Holm of McPherson, KS; a sister, Deanna Applequist (Ray) of Falun, KS; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Patrick; 19 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; and many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Donald Patrick; grandson, Darrin Koehn; and great-grandchildren, Mason Holm and Isabella Star.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 27, at New Gottland Lutheran Church Cemetery.
