Nola Ann Hawkinson, 77, of McPherson, KS and formerly of Marquette, KS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, surrounded by family at Salina Regional Health Center. She was an administrative assistant at several area business offices and a registered nurse at several area nursing homes and hospitals.
Nola was born on May 17, 1942, in McPherson, KS the daughter of Agnar W. and Rosalie M. (Schroff) Christensen. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1960, Brown Mackie Business College, Salina, and Hutchinson Community College School of Nursing. She was united in marriage to Gerald T. “Ted” Hawkinson on November 8, 1963, in Galva, KS. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2008.
She was a member of Marquette United Methodist Church, Marquette American Legion Auxiliary, Starlight Literary Club of Marquette, Marquette Saddle Club, and the McPherson Square Dancing Club.
Survivors include: three children, Jon Hawkinson and wife, Debbie, of McPherson, KS, Amy Hawkinson of Lincoln, KS, and Jill Baldwin and husband, Todd, of Windom, KS; six grandchildren, Rebecca Hawkinson, Kody Hawkinson, Abbey Burdette (Braden), Chloe Renken (Tevin), Emily Baldwin, and Trey Baldwin; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Marlin Jay Christensen.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, October 27, 2019, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 28, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.
