Nancy Belknap

Nancy L. Belknap, 63, of McPherson, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Memorial Hospital, McPherson. She was a former Executive Director of Mount Hope Sanctuary. She also was an interior decorator and operated the Inside-Out Shop in McPherson.

Nancy was born on January 24, 1947, in Coffeyville, KS, the daughter of Gordon Jack, Sr. and Ellene Josephine (Johnson) Finney. She graduated from McPherson High School and the LaSalle School of Interior Design. On August 31, 1991, she was united in marriage to Claude A. Belknap in Bartlesville, OK.

Nancy served on the board of directors for Mount Hope Sanctuary, was a member of New Hope Evangelical Church and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, all of McPherson.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at the New Hope Evangelical Church with Pastor Jim Keil officiating. Burial will be in the Crestwood Memorial Park, McPherson. Visitation is from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Survivors include: husband, Claude of the home; son, Zachary of the home; mother, Ellene Peery and husband, Boyd, of McPherson; brothers, Gordon Finney and wife, Evelyn, of Lake Pomme de Terre, MO and Kevin McKean and wife, Chris, of McPherson; sister, Marguerite Crockett and husband, Butch, of McPherson; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, brother, Tom McKean, and sister, Nikki G. Simpson.
