Myron L. Tippett, was born on October 26, 1954, in Barstow, CA, the son of Myron Lee and Joada Marie (Summerville) Tippett.
He peacefully passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024, surrounded by his family at the Hospice House in Hutchinson, reaching the age of 69 years.
Myron's boyhood years were spent living in Livingston, California. He served in the United States Navy from 1973-1975 and also served time at the Marine Corps Base in Barstow.
On December 3, 1976, Myron was united in marriage to Joann Barnard. Myron became a father to her son Kenny. A daughter, Holly Marie, was born to them in 1978. It was during this time; they realized their need of salvation and made their decision to serve the Lord. Myron and Joann were baptized into the Church of God in Christ Mennonite at Livingston, CA in November 1989. Joann passed away the following year.
On April 14, 1991, Myron married Sherry L. Koehn. To this union were born four children. Dad and Mom moved to Stover, MO in 1994. Dad was called by the church and ordained as a deacon at the Oakridge Congregation. He faithfully fulfilled his calling for 25 years. Dad had a firm faith in God and freely gave himself to the work God called him to do. He shared many inspirations thru the years of the Lord's grace and mercy bestowed upon him. We loved hearing the many stories from the past and his experience of coming to the Lord and the Church.
He was the owner and operator of MTC Construction in Stover, MO, a poultry producer, and farmer. Myron had strong work ethics and being on time was very important to him. He was very disciplined and led by example. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart...so many happy hours were spent with him in beautiful scenic places enjoying nature and fishing. He would always say "Gotta put meat on the table." In 2017, he and his family relocated to Pecos, Texas and then later to Windom, Kansas. He thrived on new adventures, purchasing a combine and joining us in our custom harvesting business. He also opened our minds to new vocations, creating opportunities for our community.
Myron was diagnosed in September 2023 with cancer. He endured his pain and suffering with stoic determination.
We are grateful for the many good memories and the security he provided for our family. His passing will leave a hole no one else can fill.
Those left to cherish memories are his wife, Sherry; five children, Holly Pregno of Kokomo, IN, Melanie (Rhett) Ensz of Inman, KS, Jacob (Kalyn) Tippett of Inman, KS, Hanna (Fadzi) Boehs of Norman, OK, and Luke (Annalee) Tippett of Windom, KS; siblings, Cheryl (Mike) Minter of Lincoln, CA, Lori (Jim) Rowe of Marysville, CA, and Cindy (Kelly) Brenton of Atwater, CA; six grandchildren, Jaden & Jolee Pregno and Arianni, Beckham, Boston, & Adeline Ensz; and many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
