Michael Glaser

Michael Todd Glaser, 46, of Emporia, Kansas passed away on Wednesday October 9, 2013.

He was born April 24, 1967 and raised in Phillipsburg, Kansas by the late Sharon (Meeker) Glaser and Roger F. Glaser. He graduated from Phillipsburg High in 1985. During high school, Michael was an accomplished wrestler and later assisted with coaching younger wrestlers in his hometown. He attended Fort Hays State University before traveling and exploring many parts of the U.S.

He was an avid reader and loved the outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a special love for animals, especially his Labrador, Bailey. Michael always went out of his way to extend a helping hand to a stranger. Michael also loved music, and was self-taught on the guitar. He could often be found playing a Tesla tune.

Michael never married, nor had children and his last years were spent in Emporia where he was a faithful member the Emporia Church of Christ.

Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Sharon (Meeker) Glaser; and grandparents, Leonard and Mary (Slack) Glaser of Phillipsburg, Kansas; Junior Hunt of Imperial, Nebraska, and George Meeker of Hoyt, Kansas.

He is survived by Roger F. Glaser of McPherson, Kansas; Shannon (Greg) Akins of Manhattan, Kansas; Herb (Staci) Glaser of Joplin, Missouri; Virginia Meeker of Hoyt, Kansas; Roger Hunt of Colby, Kansas; Scott (Barb) Hunt of Otley, Iowa; Michelle (Russ) Hurd of Grand Island, Nebraska and Doris Hunt of Imperial, Nebraska. He had 10 nieces and nephews.

A memorial will be held at the Emporia Church of Christ on the evening of October 21, 2013, at 6:00 PM.
