Melvin “Bud” Leonard Snyder, Jr., 65, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 21, 2022, surrounded by family at McPherson Hospital. He retired from the NCRA Refinery and had also worked at Kit Road Ranger and Blackstone Drilling. This past year, he was a camp host at Kanopolis Reservoir.
Melvin was born on October 17, 1956, in Long Beach, CA, the son of Melvin Leonard Snyder, Sr. and Darlene (Weaver) Snyder. On November 9, 2018, Bud was united in marriage to Carol Sue Burch in McPherson, KS.
He was a member of McPherson Lodge #172 AF & AM.
Bud was a hard worker and had many enjoyments in life. Some of those included camping, hunting, fishing, and coin collecting. However, what he enjoyed most was spending time with family. He was an avid NASCAR and football fan. He was one who never knew a stranger and valued times spent with friends.
Survivors include: his loving wife, Carol of the home; daughters, Bre Farley (Shawn) of McPherson, KS and Brenda Hall (Chad Schlicht) of McPherson, KS; step-daughter, Michelle Burch (Lucious Bush)of Inman, KS; step-son, Brandon Burch (Melody) of McPherson, KS; a sister, Renee “Jan” Delmotte (Del) of Denver, CO; 11 grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 28, at McPherson Cemetery.
