Maxine Elder

Martha Maxine Elder, 87, of Kingman, KS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at The Cedars, McPherson. She was a homemaker and farm wife.

Maxine was born on June 18, 1929, in Kingman County, one of 11 children born to Philip H. and Emma S. (Schroeder) Kaufman. She graduated from Kingman High School in 1947. On March 26, 1950, Maxine was united in marriage to Lawrence Dee Elder in Kingman. He preceded her in death on December 26, 2010.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Kingman.

Survivors include: daughter, Carla Williamson (Marc) of McPherson, KS; son, Glenn Elder of Lenexa, KS; brother, Phil Kaufman of Wichita, KS; two grandchildren Kylie Williamson (Molly) and Danon Williamson (Natalie); numerous nieces & nephews; and caregiver, Kaley Tiesmeyer of Kingman, KS.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Philip and Emma Kaufman; husband, Dee Elder; daughter, Cristie Elder; and nine siblings.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 29, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church in Kingman, KS with Rev. Dawn Flippin officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Hoosier Cemetery, Kingman.
