Mary Williams

Mary Ann Williams, 79, of Windom, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011, at Promise Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson. Prior to retirement in 2002, she worked for Ineeda Laundry in Hutchinson and also for Sandstone Heights Nursing Home in Little River.

She was born November 7, 1931, in Moundridge, Kansas, the daughter of Harvey E. and Irene C. (Ewy) Ball. Mary Ann graduated from Windom High School in 1949 and lived most of her life in Windom. Mary Ann was a member of the Windom Church of Christ.

On April 7, 1955, she married Benton E. Sovde. He passed away on September 22, 1976. She then married Robert S. Williams on October 4, 1996, in Windom. He died June 12, 2011.

Survivors include: a son, Edward Sovde (Joan) of Windom, KS; a daughter, Barbara Pennell (Paul) of Edmond, OK; two step-sons, Lonnie Williams of Seneca, KS and Leon Bennett of Washington, KS; two step-daughters, Brenda Burleson and Julie Clark, both of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Marjorie Hackett (Allen) of Haven , KS and Eddis Davis (Lloyd) of Moundridge, KS; three grandchildren, Troy Sovde (Lynette) of Galva, KS, Tina Campbell (Matt) of Falun, KS, and Eric Pennell of Edmond, OK; four great-grandchildren, Cole and Caleb Sovde and Keni & Ty Campbell; a step-great-granddaughter, K-Lee Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Benton Sovde and Robert Williams.

The memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, July 22, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Minister Kenny Graham will officiate the service. Inurnment will be in the Windom Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
