Mary F. Barr

Mary Frances Barr, 85, of McPherson, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014, at her home in McPherson. Mary was a waitress for many local restaurants. She enjoyed people, so waitressing was the job she loved the most. In her later years, she worked in various other positions in local businesses, where she worked well beyond retirement years.

She was born on May 7, 1929, in Eureka, KS, the daughter of John M. and Frances E. (Adams) Algeo. On July 31, 1943, Mary was united in marriage to Ralph Barr, Sr. in McPherson, KS. He preceded her in death on January 25, 1991.

Survivors include: son, Ralph Barr, Jr. (Charleen) of Johnstown, CO; two granddaughters, Amy Barr (Firas Al-Otaibi) of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and Amanda Barr (Brad Paris) of Brush, Colorado; two-great-granddaughters, Noora Al-Otaibi and Cora Paris; and several nieces & nephews in states outside of Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances, and husband, Ralph.

Graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 13, 2014, at McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, December 12, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
