Martha A. Hofmann

Martha A. Hofmann, 68, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 26, 2021, at her home in McPherson, Kansas.

She was born July 20, 1953, in Topeka, Kansas to Neil C. and Florentina H. (Zelfer) Fordham.

Martha grew up on a farm near Havensville, Ks. and graduated from Onaga High School in 1971. She graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Education in 1975. Her first job after graduation was teaching elementary school in Munden, Ks. After teaching, she started a career in the property and casualty insurance industry. Martha started out as a rater and moved up to executive management during her career, earning CPCU and CIC certifications along the way. During this time, she worked for Iowa Mutual Insurance Company, Cimarron Insurance Company, and Farmers Alliance Mutual Insurance Company.

In her spare time, Martha enjoyed cooking, arts & crafts, traveling, and spending time with friends.

Martha is survived by two sons, A.J. Hofmann, Kansas City, Mo, and Tyler Hofmann, Dodge City, Ks; one brother, Cecil Fordham and wife Linda, of Onaga, Ks and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mary and Patricia.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, Aug. 6, at Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 21, at the Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys, KS.
