Mark Dale Reese, 59, of McPherson, KS, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at his residence. In his earlier career, he worked for Hedlund Electric and Industrial Electric. For the past 32 years, he had worked as a pipeline technician and cavern specialist for MAPCO/Williams Energy.
Mark was born on September 22, 1963, in McPherson, KS, the son of Harold Dale and Margaret Ann (Petron) Reese. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1981. He continued his education at North Central Kansas Area Vocational School and received an electrical degree.
On September 27, 1986, Mark was united in marriage to Nellie Frances Briney at St. Joseph Catholic Church in McPherson. This union was blessed with three children, Josh, Jacob, and Jared.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Ducks Unlimited, and Pheasants Forever.
Faith, family, and the great outdoors were the center of Mark’s life. His love of the land started when he learned the ropes of the family farm out at Roxbury. That land served as the starting place for his passion of fishing and hunting. If he wasn’t scouting the perfect buck or reeling in the big catch, he was sitting in a lawn chair next to the camper soaking in nature, sharing a drink with his wife and sons, or taking in the sounds of his grandkids playing in the dirt. From hunting and fishing to camping, Mark’s greatest joy came from sharing his hobbies with his kids and grandkids. The best memories were made on his boat, in the deer stand, or with a fishing pole in hand.
Survivors include: his loving wife of 36 years, Nellie of the home; three sons, Josh (Dara) Reese of McPherson, KS, Jacob (Shelby) Reese of Wichita, KS, and Jared (RaeLyn) of McPherson, KS; five grandchildren, Jackson, Randilyn, Reagan, Blakely, and Dawson; his sister, Laura (Kelly) Vogts of McPherson, KS; and nieces & nephews, Adam (Heather) Vogts, Abby (Taylor) Bauer, Landon Vogts, and Anna Vogts; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Margaret Reese, and mother-in-law, Florence Briney.
