Marjorie A. Smith

Marjorie A. Smith, 79, of McPherson, passed away on Thursday, July, 16, 2015, surrounded by family at McPherson Hospital. She was a former co-owner of McPherson Laundry and had worked for Miller Kennedy Implement Company and Farmers Alliance Mutual Insurance Company.

Marjorie was born on April 2, 1936, in McPherson, KS, the daughter of E. Clifford and Mildred C. (Martinson) Johnson. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1954. On December 21, 1958, Marjorie was united in marriage to Ronald G. Smith at New Gottland Lutheran Church, McPherson.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, McPherson.

Survivors include: her husband, Ron of the home; two sons, Brian Smith and Troy Smith, both of McPherson, KS; cousins, Patricia Johnson and husband, LeRay, of McPherson, KS, Bill Martinson of McPherson, KS, Glenn Martinson and wife, Pam, of McPherson, KS, and Cecelia “Cece” Shannon and husband, Gene, of Salina, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Tim Leaf officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
