Marjorie M. Suchsland

Marjorie Marie Suchsland, 88, of McPherson, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2011, at the McPherson Care Center. Marjorie had been a McPherson resident since November of 1990, formerly of Jewell, KS and Burr Oak, KS. She was a homemaker.

Marjorie was born on August 19, 1923, in Mankato, KS, the daughter of Floyd D. and Evea Rebecca Mae (Baylie) Myers. She graduated from Burr Oak High School. On June 23, 1943, she was united in marriage to Lester G. Suchsland in Norton, KS. He preceded her in death on August 13, 1999.

Marjorie was a member of the First Christian Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include: daughter, Sharla Rempe (David) of McPherson, KS; sons, Larry Suchsland (Marcia) of Smith Center, KS, Leslie Suchsland (Judy) of Kearney, NE, and Carl Suchsland (Terri) of Superior, NE; sisters, Lylda Garman of Superior, NE and Marilyn Lewis (Encille) of Manhattan, KS; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lester, and a daughter, Shirley Kramer.

A visitation is scheduled from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, December 27, 2011, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, at the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak, KS.
