Mariam Leffler

Mariam Leffler, 64, of Canton, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2007, at Hillsboro Community Medical Center in Hillsboro, KS. She was born March 19, 1943, in McPherson, Kansas, the daughter of Clair H. and Fern Maxine (Keefer) Carey. She graduated from Canton High School in 1961 and graduated from Sidney's Hairdressing College, Hutchinson, Kansas. On August 26, 1962, she was united in marriage to Darryl A. Leffler at Canton, Kansas. She was a beautician and owner of Mariam's Beauty Salon, Canton.

Mariam was a member of the Canton United Methodist Church, Ladies Church Circle, Red Hat Society, and Happy Trails Quilting Club.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, June 1, 2007, at the Canton United Methodist Church, Canton, Kansas with Minister Orville Koehn officiating. Burial will be at the Canton Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Her survivors include: her husband, Darryl of the home; sons, Gary Leffler of Chicago, IL, Kevin Leffler of Canton, KS, and Darin Leffler of Topeka, KS; a sister, Linda Meier of Marion, KS; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
