Margaret L. Rivett, 93, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 8, 2013, at MTM Boarding Care Home, McPherson. She was a homemaker and had served in the Women’s Army Corps during World War II.
She was born on November 17, 1919, in McPherson, KS the daughter of Myron E. and Alma B. (Slabach) Lingle. In 1939, she graduated from Braham High School in Minnesota.
In 1944, Margaret was united in marriage to Elbert Eugene “Al” Rivett. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2013.
Margaret was a member of First United Methodist Church, McPherson.
Margaret was a very kind, caring, and loving woman. She always wanted the best for people and wished nothing but happiness and peace to everyone she met. She was a loving and doting grandma and loved all her grandchildren deeply. She was always there for them when they needed her. They were her life. She will be missed greatly by each and every one of them. She is irreplaceable and was the best grandma that ever lived. Her love and hugs will never be forgotten.
Survivors include: son-in-law, Jim Becker (Charlotte) of McPherson, KS; four grandchildren, Joelle Maxwell (Scott) of Salina, KS, Julie Krell of McPherson, KS, Jeff Becker of McPherson, KS, and Jill Brunsell of McPherson, KS; and five great-grandchildren, Lindsey Maxwell of Salina, KS, Andrew Maxwell of Salina, KS, Jordan Krell of McPherson, KS, Jerrica Krell of McPherson, KS, and Ava Jean Brunsell of McPherson, KS; brothers, Kenneth Lingle of Yuba City, CA, Arthur “Red” Lingle (Diane) of Lawrence, KS, Edward Lingle of Collinsville, OK, Harold “Hooly” Lingle of Sparks, NV, Gary Lingle (Diane) of Placerville, CA; sisters, Beth Fraune of Osakis, MN and Shirley Gatz (Elmer) of Wichita, KS; sisters-in-law, Gertrude Lingle of Hutchinson, KS and Betty Lingle of McPherson, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Linda Jean Becker, three brothers, Dwight, Jack, and Royce, and a sister, Lauvera Lingle.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Quentin Bennett and Rev. Harold Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, Monday, November 11, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
