Margaret Jean Grant, 80, of McPherson, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2007, at Memorial Hospital in McPherson. She was born August 3, 1926, at York, Nebraska, the daughter of Charles N. "Pop" and Berniece Amelia (Froyck) Shafer. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1944. On June 3, 1944, she was united in marriage to Udell S. "Udie" Grant in McPherson, KS. Udie preceded her in death on May 3, 2004. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Gran-Diel Music Company.

Margaret Jean was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit #24, and Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, all of McPherson.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Fibranz officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery with burial honors provided by the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Unit #24. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Survivors include: two sons, Jerry Grant and wife, Connie, and Gary Grant and wife, Donna, all of McPherson; two sisters, Virginia Charlson of Lindsborg and Vivian Johnson of McPherson; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Udie, and a sister, Shirley Hill.
